PhD Student
Kousik Bhattacharya, from Kolkata, West Bengal, holds an M.Sc. in Molecular Microbiology from the Institute of Health Sciences at Presidency University, Kolkata. He spent over two years in the Host-Pathogen Interaction and Immunology Lab under the supervision of Dr. Debanjan Mukhopadhyay, where he gained hands-on experience in cell biology, molecular biology, microscopy, and computational approaches.
His observation of axonemal alterations in Leishmania parasites treated with GBP-derived peptides sparked his interest in cilia and axonemal biology, which he is now pursuing in his research.
Outside the lab, Kousik enjoys football, traveling, and music.
